I built a theme for WordPress using PHP, CSS, HTML and JavaScript. The theme was built from scratch with a strong focus on accessibility and performance, following WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines.
The goal was to create a reusable base theme that could be adapted for future websites. development took me 7-9 months, with the greatest challenge being the length of time it took me to develop the backend PHP and the Mega-menu (navigation)

Over time my priorities’ have changed. WordPress is increasingly focusing on Full Site Editing (FSE) themes more where layout, responsiveness, and structural behaviour is handled directly by WordPress, reducing the need for heavy custom code.
Because of this shift, I will be focusing more on web application development
